I am thoroughly enjoying the Monday and Thursday exercise classes. Before taking these classes, I had issues with low back and sciatic nerve pain. In addition, I have a very sedentary job and I wanted to implement some exercise into my week. My goal was to build my core strength and improve my sense of balance – both areas where I have seen some improvement!
These classes have helped build my core muscles, as well as strengthen my upper and lower body, through the wide variety of exercises Daria offers. An added plus has been that I feel more energized throughout the day too. I am hoping with my continued participation in the classes that I will build more body strength, balance and endurance!
I cannot believe 8 weeks have gone by so quickly! I have been so inspired by everyone who has been part of this great group. I have learned a lot and, hopefully, made some real, lasting changes. Janine’s coaching was great! Her posts in the closed, Facebook group were always what I needed, and hit some of my biggest issues – perfectionism, the rut of the routine, and the importance in finding balance with nutrition, exercise, and life!

“Desk-2-5K” with Daria Shaw of 2 Health Nuts has been life-changing for me. I don’t have enough words to share my appreciation for this opportunity that has given me a part of my life back that I didn’t know how to reclaim. At 63, the 8th grader who earned a President’s Physical Fitness Award, and could do 14 chin-ups, felt a lifetime away. After surgeries, and the physical changes many women go through during pregnancy and childbirth, I had lost confidence that my body could function as it once had.
Over the past 6 weeks, I’ve learned that I CAN work out for one hour, 3x per week, after having been sedentary, and not only survive but thrive! I’ve seen that there is a whole world outside my home where people are active. Because of this class, I’ve had guidance in finding appropriate shoes, clothes to wear for working out, and a yoga mat. I’ve learned how to do exercises to warm up, and stretches to do after walking/running. I believe I can walk or run on my own and have a sense that I know what I am doing to get the most from these activities.
Now, I have a renewed confidence and know that, if I can make fitness a habit, I can improve my health - and feel great- for many years to come. I would welcome continuing opportunities to develop healthy routines with this kind of support!"
